Pride served as assistant concertmaster and concertmaster for 17 years. She initiated the Edinburg String Project in 1952 and the McAllen String Program in 1979 after many years of petitioning for orchestral programs in the districts. The McAllen ISD program today has an enrollment of 1,000 students. She finished her long service to education by serving as director of fine arts for McAllen ISD from 1991-1994.
