ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF - OPENING
The Valley Symphony Orchestra, a non-profit tax-exempt organization, has an immediate opening for a full-time office administrative staff position.
Duties include supervision of current staff, development, and implementation of all fund-raising activities, and operations oversight involving the scheduling and production of VSO Concerts, Rehearsals, and Special Events. The 40-hour per week schedule may include some nights and weekends.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree preferably in Arts Management, Marketing, Management or Communications plus 3 to 5 years related experience preferably with an arts organization or a non-profit organization. Non-degreed applicants may apply if they have 6 plus years as a supervisor in the before mentioned organizations. Experience with orchestra management is a plus.
Desired skills include proficiency in Microsoft Office with an emphasis in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; grant writing experience; excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both written and oral. The applicant should also have knowledge of finance including the preparations of budgets and financial reports. Must show initiative and independence in carrying out responsibilities and have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
