Hungarian Dance No. 6, D-Major

-Brahms developed the motto “free but happy” (“frei aber froh”) based on the music notes F-A-F and included this theme into many of his works, but in Symphony No. 3, the theme begins in minor, signaling that Brahms had conflicted emotions regarding his motto and personal happiness

-John Barry, who composed the vast majority of the scores for Bond films, was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire for his contributions to music and film in England

Maestro Peter Dabrowski and the Valley Symphony Orchestra proudly present James Bond Meets Brahms: Two men of intrigue, one incredible concert. The evening will feature famous tunes from the iconic James Bond films as well as Brahms’ third symphony, which he wrote in honor of being a bachelor and dubbed his “free but happy” symphony.
